Daily Reflection: Thursday, March 28

Thursday, March 28 Holy Thursday

This evening we celebrate the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. We remember how Jesus took simple bread and wine and said “This is my body; this is my blood. Do this in memory of me.” The Washing of the Feet precedes this: “As I have done for you, you must do for one another.” Such great acts of love, moments before He was betrayed. Such great gifts, given not just once but for all times. Pope Francis surprised many on Holy Thursday yearly by washing the feet of individuals that most would not consider should be chosen. It seems that Pope Francis like Jesus saw all people as worthy of this gesture.
