Daily Reflection: Monday, April 15

Monday, April 15, 2024 – 3rd Week of Easter

Today we start to hear the narrative of Stephen, the first martyr of the followers of Christ Jesus. In the Reading from the Acts of the Apostles, we hear of the beginnings of the Church, and how the people who were followers, and those who were new followers of “The Way” needed someone to lead them. The apostles began to care for the new community, however this was overwhelming so they needed help in care for the community. Stephen was chosen by the Apostles as one of the many to help caring for the community members. Stephen along with the others faced many challenges like the apostles did. Along with ministering to the people, he was able to speak with wisdom to those who were not familiar with Christ and all that God had done through him. Today pray for the grace of wisdom, to speak and act like the children of the light.
