Daily Reflection: Wednesday, July 27

July 27  Wednesday of the Seventeenth Week in Ordinary Time

When I found your words, I devoured them; they became my joy and the happiness of my heart.  Because I bore your name, O Lord, God of hosts.   (Jeremiah 15:16)

Some people pore over the Sacred Scriptures, pondering them in detail.  Some people memorize passages.  Some will read a sentence or two and think about it all day.  There are lots of ways to approach Bible reading, but it’s our attitude that is important.  Jeremiah devoured God’s words and they filled him with joy and happiness.  Even before we open the Bible, we realize what a gift God has put in our hands.  Be amazed.
