Memorial of St. Alphonsus Liguori, Bishop and Doctor of the Church

The Responsorial Psalm is taken from Psalm 119. The New American Bible entitles this psalm as A Prayer to God, The Lawgiver. In verse 43 we read “Do not take the word of truth from my mouth, for in your edicts is my hope.” Where do you place your hope? Do you place your hope in your material possessions? Or place your hope in a person? This psalm reminds us to place our hope in God, in God’s ordinances. What lies behind these ordinances is God’s love. Today pray for the graces to place your hope in God’s love.
