Daily Reflection: Friday, November 3

Friday, November 3

The life of St. Martin de Porres that we remember today has been an inspiration for years. He was the illegitimate child of a Spanish nobleman and a freed black Peruvian woman. Because of this he faced discrimination throughout his life; however, this did not stop him from ministering to the sick and to those of a mixed background, contrary to the ways of that day and age. He shows to continue to do what is right, what the Gospel teaches us. May we have the vision and heart of this saint.

Fr. Andrew
