Daily Reflection: Saturday, November 4

Saturday, November 4

“Be sure that you first preach by the way that you live” said St. Charles Borromeo. His talents were recognized by Pope Pius IV who made him a cardinal, administrator of the diocese of Milan, and secretary of state of the Vatican. Charles was only 22 when all this happened and he wasn’t even ordained a priest. He lived to be only 46 years old, but accomplished much reform after the Council of Trenton. The Lord says: “I will look after my sheep…and I will appoint a shepherd to pasture them.” St. Charles was the Lord’s instrument at a time that he did what was needed.
