Daily Reflection: Tuesday, July 25

Tuesday July 25

In the letter to the Corinthians today, Paul tells us of his many afflictions. He also tells us of his absolute commitment to Jesus knowing that he will be raised with him and be in his presence. In the Gospel, Jesus tells the sons of Zebedee that they also will suffer because of him. We may not suffer because of our faith, but we too are called to serve others – this is what it means to follow Jesus – to empty ourselves of our need for position and power and give our lives in the service of others.
