Daily Reflection: Friday, July 28
Friday July 28
The Book of Exodus contains the Ten Commandments which we usually look at as the list of non-negotiable do’s and don’ts. They are often the basis of our personal examinations of conscience and were frequently the things we used to determine what was to be confessed. Instead of seeing them as a check list, we might better see them as the prelude to Jesus’s commandments to love. The Ten commandments give us guidelines for being in loving relationships with God and each other. They invite to live as beloved children of God and to respect all others as equally beloved children.
