Daily Reflection: Friday, August 11

Friday, August 11

Today is the Feast of St. Clare of Assisi. We remember how she was inspired by St. Francis and when she was 18 years old, left a very comfortable way of life to follow the poor man of Assisi. Her way of following was different in that she lived an enclosed life with the other Sisters. She constantly advocated for a way of life different from other nuns in monasteries; she was finally given “the privilege of poverty.” After St. Francis died, she and her Sisters kept the spirit and way of life of the saint alive. “Place your soul in the brilliance of glory. And transform your entire being into the image of the Godhead Itself through contemplation.”

Fr. Andrew
