Wednesday of the Fifth Week of Easter

I rejoiced because they said to me,

“We will go up to the house of the Lord.”

And now we have set foot 

within your gates, O Jerusalem.    (Ps 122:1-2)

Psalm 122 is one of the Pilgrimage Psalms.   I like to imagine the joy when God’s people, after a long journey, finally enters the Holy City for one of the great feasts.  I pray this verse when I arrive at one of my pilgrimage places and I remember it when we begin Sunday mass.  We enter the Holy City and the Presence of God.
