Luke 8: 14-15

In today’s parable about the seed that falls on various types of ground, Jesus tells us that the seed is the word of God.  We who hear that word are the different kinds of soil that either embrace the seed or reject it. Are we rocky ground or thorny ground, poor soil or rich soil? Do we prepare ourselves to receive God’s word so that it may implant itself in our lives and grow to be healthy shelters for those around us? God’s word invites us to be open to God’s presence in our lives, and to be that presence for all we meet.
