Timothy 2:1-8
Paul tells Timothy and his companions to pray for everyone, kings, and all in authority so that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity. This is good and pleasing to God who wills that everyone is to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth. He goes on to say that there is one God. These words resonate with us today when chaos seems to reign and religious differences can lead to violence. Prayer may seem like a futile action in the face of so much discord, but we believe that God hears us and enables us to bear with all the realities of our lives. Let us pray for all in authority even when we disagree with their approach to the issues of our day. Remember, God wills that everyone is to be saved!
