In today’s Gospel reading we have the images of a mustard seed and yeast; both are very small, and both produce large things. The seed becomes a large bush where birds may make their dwelling place. Yeast becomes a loaf of bread, which feeds the hungry. Jesus is telling us no matter the size of our faith, we can accomplish great things. I was reminded of a well-known quote from St. Mother Teresa; “Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.
