 Happy Easter!

As one of my theology professors once said, “Without the Resurrection, everything else is worthless.”  Perhaps you might think that is a bit over dramatic, but not really…not for those of us who believe.  St. Paul writes in his First Letter to the Corinthians, “For the message of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1:18)  He goes on to say, “For Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those who are called, Jews and Greeks alike, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.  For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.”  [22-25]

The Resurrection is what tells us that God’s truth, God’s love, God’s mercy, is always victorious.

No matter what struggles weigh us down let us pray that the power of God over take us so that we may truly know that the Resurrection sets us free.  I pray that we may all know that freedom this Easter and every day of our life and then share that gift with everyone we meet.

On behalf of the friars, Sr. Pat, and the entire Pastoral Staff, we wish you a very Happy and Blessed Easter.   Jesus Christ is Risen!  He is Risen, indeed!
