Rain, anyone?
Letter from the Pastor
Twenty-eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Sunday, October 9, 2022
How about those winds? Then put them together…oh, my! The “joys” of living near the ocean and a few feet above sea level. I hope that the cabin fever did not get to you and any damage you may have had was minimal. Sadly, we have heard too many sad stories out of Florida and South Carolina. We pray for them and count our blessings. We know their pain. May they share in our hope.
If by chance, you did not get a chance to see last weekend’s bulletin I would encourage you to please visit our website and catch up on what is going on in the parish. www.stfrancisparishlbi.org.
The one piece I would like to bring to your attention once again is my request to pray for our young people who are preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation. You will find the list of names in the bulletin. Please keep them and their families in your prayer. Also, please mark your calendar and join us on April 21, 2023 to celebrate their Confirmation here at St. Francis Church.
Also, if you have not signed up for “Rained Out” I would encourage you to do so. This past weekend was a perfect example of when this can be very helpful. If we need to close the parish and/or center for any reason, “Rained Out” is a very helpful way for us to get the word out to everyone.
It is very simple to sign up. Go to www.rainedout.com, click on the box “Receive Messages.” In the dialogue box above the word “Search,” type in LBICC. St. Francis Center, LBICC Inc. will appear. Click on St. Francis Center, LBICC [in blue]. Click “Continue.” Enter your CELL phone number or your email address. Make sure you check the box, “Agree to Terms of Service.” Then click on “Start Signup.” They will send you a validation code that will be texted or emailed to you, depending on which you signed up. Enter that code and you will be good to go. You can sign up for both texts and emails, if you like. Simply repeat the process with your other contact information. Do not worry about any fees. The emails are free and the Parish & Center will pick up the cost of the texts.
May God continue to bless you and your families with peace and all good!
