Daily Reflection: Monday, July 29

Martha goes out to meet Jesus – in the midst of her great grief, she reaches out to Jesus both to comfort and to be comforted. Her faith is deep and Jesus assures her again that her belief in the resurrection is true. Martha speaks the words that carry down through the ages: “You are the Christ, the Son of God, the one who is coming into the world.” May we have the faith of Martha, especially when we are faced with loss and devastation.
