Daily Reflection: Thursday, August 1

“Like clay in the hand of the potter. . .”

A potter holds the clay on which he/she is working almost as if it is alive. There is something within the clay that is waiting to be shaped, yet an image is arising as the clay is worked. The clay in the hands of the potter is warmed and made malleable and the potter at times is gentle with it and at times, very strong. We are the clay - God is the potter. We are shaped by the loving hand of God, reflecting the image in the mind of the potter, yet offering our own substance for the work of the potter.
