Daily Reflection: Tuesday, August 6, 2024 – Feast of The Transfiguration of the Lord

Today’s feast of the Transfiguration of Jesus is found in all three synoptic Gospels. This feast was first celebrated in the East starting around the fifth century; it took longer to become part of the Roman liturgical calendar. In 1457 this feast started to be universally celebrated. This feast is intended to drive us to transform ourselves and the world, by letting our faces shine like the Son and by shinning the Light of Christ to others.
